The celebrities best kept secret to smoother skin
What exactly is Dermaplaning?
It is our newest and most popular treatment!
"Dermaplaning is the controlled scraping of the skin using a sterile, surgical blade held at a 45- degree angle for the removal of keratinized cells on the outer corneum and removal of fine vellus hair". Sounds complicated? It really isn't...In simple terms it is an amazing physical exfoliation using a sterile blade to gently remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. The secondary bonus about this treatment is that it also removes the fine vellus "fluffy" hair, giving you the smoothest skin you have ever had! Dermaplan results are immediate and provide a terrific alternative to microdermabrasion.
What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
There are so many benefits to this amazing treatment;
1. Firstly your skin will feel the smoothest it's ever felt
2. You'll be glowing like you've never glowed before
3. Your skincare products will absorb so much more effectively
4. Your makeup will look flawless because all that fine 'peach fuzz' will be removed, so you will photograph beautifully, ideal for that special occasion
5. It's a great prep for further treatments Face peels, masks etc
6. It helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (my personal favourite!)
So, it's just like shaving your face?
Absolutely not! Please do not try and shave your face at home and think you will get the same results!
Will my hair grow back thicker and darker?
Wow do you think if this was the case balding men would just get their head dermaplaned instead of paying thousands for hair transplants! It is physiologically impossible for this to happen. Your hair will grow back exactly the same in approximately 3-4 weeks. If you have a lot of "terminal" hair (those thicker darker stubbier hairs), like the ones you have on your top lip it may be advisable to have them waxed first. We can do this for you and won't charge you extra for this...How nice are we :-)
Can't I just exfoliate?
As much as exfoliating is great for your skin, it will not have the same results as dermaplaning. Dead skin and vellus hair can make your complexion appear dull, flaky and can even cause breakouts due to clogged pores and hair follicles. This physical exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even and healthy glow.
I usually have Microdermabrasion!
Microdermabrasion is also a physical exfoliation, however dermaplaning is much better for those with more sensitive skins. Dermaplaning actually removes more skin than microdermabrasion can and it also removes vellus hair which microdermabrasion can't! So it's a win, win situation, Dermaplane all the way!
The girl down the road is offering the treatment for a tenner!
Please check to see if she is insured and qualified! Anyone can buy a blade from the internet and try to shave their face and then offer it as a treatment. I only use specialised blades! Could I buy blades for 25p each? absolutely, however I wouldn't even risk the chance of tearing my clients face apart! I trained with the best trainer in the UK for this treatment. She was the first person to bring this treatment to the UK, so be assured I am professional in what I do. I only use high quality products that are fully certified, have been rigorously tested, and are scientifically credible.

We will cleanse and prep the skin and then dermaplane. An enzyme peel is done immediately after. Using the peel after dermaplaning is an excellent way to make sure that the peel penetrates deeper and more evenly. They go great together and totally maximises the exfoliation process.
