Skin Booster Injections

Skin boosters are micro injections of dermal filler in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers they are not injected beneath the skin to volumize or shape the face. This type of filler can be injected over a large treatment area of the face, neck and hands to increase the skins hydration. Skin boosters can be used to treat many different skin areas. The most common is the face, followed by the neck, decolletage and the dorsum of the hands. However, they can also be used to treat areas, like tightening of the skin under the arms and chin. Injectable skin boosters use a liquid formulation of hyaluronic acid combined with antioxdants, which disperse evenly under the top layer of skin. It instantly enhances the skin’s hydration and stimulates the production of collagen.

How Does Profhilo® Work?

Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo® stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.

As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo® is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
